I play bass in Itchycoo Park. I am 50-something years of age and should know better than to hare around the lower North Island of New Zealand playing my "Noel Redding-signature" Fender Jazz bass. Bernard (drummer) and I went to Saint Patricks College in Silverstream from 1964 to 1968 where we were totally engrossed in the music of day. But who wasn't? These were pretty exciting times and the transistor radios were always "on". From The Kinks to John Mayall to Pink Floyd to Genesis (and now back to The Kinks!!!) I have enjoyed it all. My "all-time-favorite-song-of-all-time" is Waterloo Sunset. My "all-time-favorite-guitar-solo" is Have You Heard (Eric Clapton) on the Beano Album or maybeSteve Hackett's solo on Firth of Fifth (Selling England by the Pound). Bass solo of all time has to be Teen Town by Jaco (Weather Report - Heavy Weather).
I am married to Fran who puts up with a lot of late nights and must know Itchycoo Parks music better than I do as she has had to sit through the sets so many times
